FJB Consultancy was established in 2011 by Fiona Brookes. Fiona is an experienced consultant having worked in the not-for-profit sector for over 20 years. She has assisted charities, membership organisations, trade unions and housing associations with a wide variety of projects. Her main areas of expertise are business process mapping and improvement and data protection compliance.
Fiona works with clients to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their processes through mapping existing processes or new processes. This includes improving existing processes by streamlining them, advising on checks and controls, identifying where and how it is possible to make better use of existing or new technology, and developing processes required for new areas of work. Fiona also works with clients to map their processes and document their requirements for new technology and systems.
Fiona’s other main area of expertise is data protection compliance. She has extensive experience of data protection having started working on compliance projects when the 1998 Data Protection Act came into force in 2000. She has in depth knowledge of the Data Protection Act 1998 and 2018, the EU General Data Protection Regulation 2018, the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulation 2003 and the new EU ePrivacy Regulation which is expected to be finalised this year. Fiona works with clients to identify where they are at risk of non-compliance and provides practical advice and solutions to minimise the risk of non-compliance.
Underpinning Fiona’s areas of expertise are her people and project management skills. Fiona has assisted with and project managed the selection and implementation of CRM, finance, HR, events, CPD and accreditation systems for membership and charity organisations.
